The Orange Contacts Backup service has closed. Below are some details that may help you.
Backing up your contacts elsewhere
If you’re looking for other ways to keep all the data on your phone safe then take a look at our new Clone Phone service here: http://explore.ee.co.uk/clone-phone.
There are also lots of other apps that will allow you to back up your phone contacts free of charge. You can find these by searching in your phone’s app store.
Exporting your contacts
If you’ve previously backed up your contacts using the Contacts Backup service you’ll be able to view, print or export them from the Orange website until 30 November 2013. To do this you'll need to sign into the Orange website from your computer at http://web.contacts.orange.co.uk. Or you can access your contacts from the www.orange.co.uk website, click on email & communicate in the top navigation bar and select online contacts from the list.
Once you've accessed your contacts online you'll be able to print them directly from the web pages or export them to a computer by clicking on the 'export contacts' button to the left of the page.
Important: Only the contacts backed up before 31 October 2012 will be shown in your contacts list as the Orange Contacts Back Up service was suspended from 1 November 2012. These contacts will only be available for you to access up until 30 November 2013.
Removing the app from your phone
If you have an iPhone, Blackberry or Symbian (e.g. Nokia or Sony Ericsson) device we recommend you delete the Contacts Backup app from your home screen. Android users should do the following:
- Open the Contacts Backup application
- Click on Settings
- Click on 'frequency of backup'
- Click on 'manual backup'
It's important you delete or turn off the app to avoid receiving any notifications from the app, otherwise you may receive these even though the service is now closed.
